What to Expect
Come experience a state of deep relaxation and meditation. Feel a renewed sense of being truly alive!
The focus will be on gentle yoga and breathwork followed by a full immersion into the rich sounds of the gong, singing bowls, shruti box, monochord and more. As the soundscapes fill the room there will be two opportunities to practice moving energy with your voice.
The sounds created by the instruments can provide the mind with a break from thinking patterns that may be contributing to stress, anxiety, depression and sleep disturbances. Where there is stillness there is also healing.
Allow the sounds and vibrations of the instruments to assist you in releasing what no longer serves you. Give yourself permission to create space for the new!
Things to bring: extra blankets, yoga mats, pillows! The more comfortable you are the deeper you can go.
MEET YOUR GUIDES:
Thomasina is a certified yoga instructor through the Yoga Center of Minneapolis and holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Women studies through the University of MN Duluth. She is practiced and trained in various forms of music, and wellness modalities including sound.
Thomasina holds space for her yoga students in Marine on St. Croix, MN. Her teaching style focuses on the breath and quieting the mind. Through gentle cuing she suggests that the practitioner hold the pose long enough to fully experience it in their body and connect with the breath.
Bob Fisk holds a bachelor's degree in Philosophy and Psychology from the University of MN Duluth. He is practiced and trained in music and a variety of wellness modalities. Bob studied sound with Alexandre Tannous, an ethnomusicologist and sound practitioner out of New York.
Thomasina and Bob run a traveling Yoga and Sound studio called Radiant Source Yoga. They use sound as a component to bring the listener to a place where the body is relaxed and the mind is still. They suggest that this is the place where we are able to make an authentic connection with our true selves.
They consider themselves to be guides and peers, providing tools for each practitioner to awaken the teacher and healer within.
